ROOFTOP

Take me to the rooftop.

I want to see those bright stars,

The starry nights

The city lights bustling like fireflies

I want to look at them fly around

So tiny from where I’m standing

None of it looks scary anymore

It’s peaceful, like a sunrise at the shore

The world doesn't look like a bad place

I could fit it all in the palm of my hand

Up here I’m the queen

Everyone at my command

If only I could stay up here

Away from reality, disasters the harshest parts of life

This place is my ecstasy,

A means of hallucination

My own world torn away from reality

The rooftop is my solitude

Far from the lies, the vanity.

I could fly here and walk in the clouds.

Here, no one controls me, not even gravity;

I could shout anything out, it’ll hold my confidentiality

This rooftop is my magic place,

My oasis at the center of this rat race
