you're not your Instagram post

you're not your Pinterest feed

you're not your snap streak score

you're not the plastic Barbie

everyone assumes you to be

you wished to not be awkward

you wish to have sweet things roll of the tip of your tongue

you wish to never have a scar

you wish everyday, for a model perfect body

you wish to be that girl described in those girly magazines

all the smiles clicked on your phone

all the recorded club dances

all the 7 am 'I woke up like this' stories

all the graceful lies you said

all of them made a fake habitat

Inspite of all the things you fake and truly wish to be

perhaps its okay to just exist

being shy in public seems normal

not having each sentence strung perfectly is fine

to be bruised, broken and scarred proves you to be a warrior

you're allowed to be round and rough on the edges

to fall and lie in your raven hair is okay

because in the end, being real and exotic is the only thing that will help you pave your way
