Book Girl

The little girls sit on her bed,
In the corner near the wall.
It’s 2 am and no one’s up
But she isn’t sleepy at all.
With a flashlight in one hand
And a book in another,
She reads as quickly as she can.
Without the slightest care
That what she reads isn’t real,
She keeps on living on her own land.
It is 3 am and she is still awake.
Her eyes hurt,
The rest of the body even more,
Her hand is paining,
But oh! How can she rest!
The book she read was just about to end.
“A little more” she whispers to herself,
Promising she would sleep soon;
But now it is 5, and the girl still sits
Wishing again to see the midnight moon.
